Software intelligence corporation Dynatrace has enhanced and added new capabilities in cloud-based automation to its software intelligence platform. The capabilities are provided through a new cloud automation module that makes use of the Dynatrace platform to automate and coordinate the software development lifecycle.
Users will now be able to automate code tests and quality checks based on their service level objectives. Also, the module is supported by a version of the open-source CNCF project Keptn and it will assist users to transform the development process. Development teams, DevOps teams, and site reliability engineering teams will now be able to manage applications natively in the cloud.
“In dynamic cloud-native architectures, ensuring high-quality, secure, and fast release cycles is incredibly time-consuming, with manual processes and siloed visibility across the application lifecycle,” said Dynatrace SVP of product management, Steve Tack.
“Dynatrace’s Cloud-based Automation module integrates with existing DevOps and automates the most mundane tasks. The benefit for teams is that they now have more time for innovation. Through this release, we are advancing both our customers and the industry’s movement toward highly automated, AI-driven DevOps.” he added.
Dynatrace cloud-based automation will offer the following:
- Automatic discharge of inventory and version comparison to continuously analyze the performance of individual release versions. If an issue is discovered, automatically go back to the most reliable version. This can enable teams to unfailingly provide the highest quality releases.
- Automated, closed-loop remediation of releases that were declined in production, encompassing orchestration of remediation runbooks, roll-back of canary, activating incident management workflows, management of feature flags, and precise context for developers through AI-powered root-cause evaluation.
- Automated quality testing of pre-production applications utilizing SLO-based quality gates to confirm that error-free code is delivered through every phase of the delivery channel without manual reviews or intervention.
ERT director of operations, Simon Pilar said, “Dynatrace Cloud-Based Automation ensures the applications we deliver meet our highest standards by automatically determining if they are ready to move on to the next stage in the lifecycle. It also enables our developers to spend less time troubleshooting, and more time driving faster innovation for the business and our customers.”
